Dave Marshall was born and raised in Norwich, New York. He has degrees in aeronautics (BS - Miami University, Ohio); management (MS - University of Southern California); and law (JD - St Mary’s University). As an Air Force officer, he managed programs for assuring the nuclear compatibility of US nuclear weapons with non-US NATO tactical aircraft, development of a simulator of the Soviet command-and-control system, and development of the capability to treat and evacuate patients in a chemical warfare environment, with time out for two tours in Viêt-Nam.
Since retiring from the Air Force Dave has practiced aviation law for over 30 years and owns a company that holds title in trust for foreign operators of US-registered aircraft. He has been a pilot for over 60 years and is a certificated airline transport pilot (ATP) and flight instructor (CFI) having flown 4,600+ hours. He has flown his own light twin airplane to 47 states and to and around Europe and back. He is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy.
