Trish DeBerry

Trish DeBerry doesn’t know comfort zones. From being the youngest of six children,
to starting her own successful multimillion dollar marketing agency, Trish sees the world different than most because she seeks out challenges that others avoid. She knows the struggles of business and life but has embraced them with the tenacity and determination that will make her the first Republican County Judge in the past 25 years, and only
the second Republican Judge in the history of Bexar County.

Born to an Air Force father, and a strong willed, businesswoman mother, Trish learned from an early age that hard work was the great equalizer. A lifelong San Antonian and Bexar County resident, Trish graduated from an area high school and received a scholarship to Trinity University. She graduated and entered broadcast news as a
journalist where she would hone the communications skills that would build her personal business and create the candidate that is universally considered the number one messenger and campaigner in San Antonio.

Along the way, Trish found the joy and true calling in her life as a mother and is raising
her son Scott Mejia and daughter Maddie Mejia with the same expectations and
accountability instilled in her by her parents: work hard, hold yourself accountable, and never be afraid to stand up for what you believe. And, for the record, Trish has raised her children, now 17 and 20, as a single mother, small business owner, and elected official.

After a decade long stint in broadcast television as a reporter, anchor, and producer, Trish partnered in the founding of a public relations and marketing agency that would grow to serve the top companies and government entities in San Antonio. Never one to rest on her accomplishments, Trish broke out on her own after 12 years to create and build her own firm, The DeBerry Group. Over the last 25 years, Trish DeBerry has built a resume that has earned her the reputation as one of the most driven community leaders in San Antonio.

Feeling the call to community service, Trish ran for Bexar County Commissioner and
won her seat to Precinct 3 in 2020, a 10-point victory over a local 30 year elected official in the Republican Primary. In the General Election, she defeated the Democratic nominee by the same 10 points. Upon taking office, Trish took every lesson learned, every skill developed over multiple disciplines, and quickly became a political and legislative force. She led the Court on key policy initiatives that decreased the property tax rate to its lowest point in 25 years, established a 3rd party review of a mismanaged jail, restored the elder fraud unit in the District Attorney’s office that had been vacant for five years, and led the effort to appropriate an historic amount of funding to hire additional prosecutor sand investigators to reduce a 5,000-case domestic violence backlog.

Trish has staked her claim to be the next Bexar County leader on the basic principles
that resonate with all Texans: self-determination, limited government, support for our constitutional rights, and a drive to keep our taxes low and our communities safe.
