Drawing from decades of public service, education leadership, and historical research, Ken Mercer will share his perspective on the role of faith, freedom, and America's founding principles in shaping our nation. He will also discuss themes from his award-winning book, Slavery 101, which explores the often-overlooked role that Christian revival movements played in the abolition of slavery.
A respected voice in Texas conservative circles, Mercer has served in the Texas House of Representatives, spent fourteen years on the Texas State Board of Education, advised Governor Rick Perry's Homeland Security and Key Infrastructure Committee, and continues to educate audiences through his historical programs and commentary.
